Slidewinder DX Portable Antenna System.
Sets up in about 10 minutes.
All fits into an over the shoulder waterproof carry bag.
Consists of:-
1x 3M Slidewinder Shock cord whip folds up into 6 sections 0.5m long.
1x Slidewinder DX Coil Colour of your choice.
1x Tripod with pegs for tripod legs & 3/8 24 Antenna mount.
1x Ground radial wires consists of 4X 4.5M Radials on a wire spool.
1x Waterproof Carry bag for the Complete Slidewinder DX Portable Antenna System.
Enjoy your Amateur radio getting out operating portable with this antenna system that can be deployed very quickly
in many different terrains.
The supplied 3M Slidewinder Shock cord whip is constructed of 6 x 0.5m Fibreglass pole sections.
With a 2.85m wire antenna element running through inside the pole sections then secured with Shockcord,
To keep the sections together & enabling folding of the antenna when not in use.
"VERY IMPORTANT" Please unfold the 3M Slidewinder Shock cord whip From the top section first.
Then when folding up the 3M Slidewinder Shock cord whip when packing it away, Start from the bottom section folding towards the top section
(ONLY PULL THE SECTIONS APART ENOUGH FOR FOLDING THEM.) This will avoid breaking the internal shock cord inside the Antenna.
Stand alone the 3m Slidewinder Shockcord whip will tune from 28 to 54mhz via an ATU
When used with the Slidewinder DX Coil the antenna system will tune without an ATU.

The Slidewinder DX Coil High-quality HF Antenna Coil.
Easy to use, easy to install, easy to maintain.
Designed for use with all 3/8 24 tpi, Antennas fittings & Mounts.
Screws easily on to all Antennas & mountings by hand no spanners required.
The SlideWinder DX Coil former has 5 air gapped vertical grooves to improve the movement over the coil windings, When tuning using the Stainless Steel tuning Slider.
For proper spacing of the coil windings the coil former is grooved to keep the windings in place, High quality heavy duty 316 marine grade stainless steel wire is used.
So rust and corrosion will never affect your coil, It will look good years from now.
Coils are easily maintained by simply wiping the coil with a dry lint free cloth.
Stainless steel has the properties of being able to form a protective layer once scratched.
Sliding the tuning slider up and down on other metals would slowly erode their protective coating.
This would lead to corrosion of the coil causing arcing & coil failure.
Operate portable.
The SlideWinder DX Coil operates from 40 to 10m metres with a 102" Telescopic whip.
Depending on whip size we found the 17ft 1979 Telescopic whips by MFJ Tuned from 20m down to 60m.
Please be aware if using the SlideWinder DX Coil with a large 17ft 1979 Telescopic whip by MFJ
care should be taken to avoid excessive wind loading using this Antenna in wind speeds greater than 20mph, As most telescopic whip antennas are not that strong in high winds.
When used portable in the field or fixed-station the use of ground radials kit that comes supplied with 4 x 4.5m radials, But if you wish to add more radials it will only help to improve antenna performance & VSWR further.
SlideWinder DX Coils may be used at power levels up to 100 Watts SSB, 100 Watts CW and 25 Watts with digital modes.
Tuning, Slide tuning slider up and down coil until maximum noise or signal is received.
Fine tune for lowest VSWR Using an VSWR Meter or an Antenna Analyzer.
The Slidewinder Tripod comes with pegs to secure down tripod legs, Preventing the tripod getting blown over in the wind, The 3/8 24 tpi Right angle Antenna mount enables the mounting of your Slidewinder DX Coil & the 3m Slidewinder shockcord whip antenna, 2 wing nut terminals allow for connecting your ground radials 4 are supplied with this kit & wound on a spool for easy storage.
The whole kit packs away into a strong Waterproof Carry bag for the Complete Slidewinder DX Portable Antenna System.
Total weight when packed into the carry bag is 3.55kgs.
